Culturally Authentic Practices Promoting Voice, Choice and Engagement

The Culturally Authentic Practice to Advance Computational Thinking in Youth (CAPACiTY) program was funded by the National Science Foundation in 2016 to develop a new curriculum for the introductory high school computer science course in Georgia’s Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) program (NSF# 1639946). The initial curriculum, Student-Centered Computing Foundations, was designed to provide students with an engaging introductory computer science experience that would encourage all students, including girls and minorities, to continue in computer science.
